According to incident reports, at approximately 9:00 AM on June 17, 2024, officers assigned to Central Regional High School were notified of two students arguing in the parking lot.
Police reports state officers observed Ava Bacchione yelling at the other individual regarding alleged infidelity, throwing a phone, and striking him multiple times. The other individual declined medical treatment but was escorted to the school nurse in accordance with protocol.
Additional officers responded to assist. Because both individuals were adults and in a dating relationship, officers determined the incident fell under domestic violence procedures and advised that an arrest would be made.
Reports further state that security footage showed Bacchione initiating the physical altercation and that officers did not locate video corroborating her claim that the other individual pulled her hair.
🏛️ Arrest & Case Status
Bacchione was transported to the Berkeley Township Police Department for processing. She was evaluated by first responders, fingerprinted, and photographed.
She was charged with Simple Assault (N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1a(1)) and released pending a future court date. Court records indicate the matter was transferred to another municipal court and was reported as pending as of August 4, 2024.
